Hi, I’m Therese, and I love photography.

Probably not a surprise to you, as you’re on my photography business website, but really I do! I love all art really, but I definitely have a bias. When I visit new cities I always hit up the art museums, and my first stop inside is to race toward their photo galleries. I loved photography enough to pursue a Bachelors in Fine Art around it, and have had the opportunity to show my photographs in numerous galleries throughout Illinois and the Midwest.

Honestly, this is another gimme, because who doesn’t? It is such an honor to be involved in so many people’s celebrations of love. My first job was as a cater waiter, and I loved dancing it up in the kitchen to couple’s favorite tunes in-between serving and bussing tables. My hopeless romantic heart adores hearing the speeches, seeing the happy tears, and getting to see all the individual little details couples have added to reflect who they are.

The good, the bad, and the beautiful in between. I love seeing people be people. I love the small shared experiences, the little quirks, individualities and commonalities alike. I love getting to observe moments both monumental and mundane. Graduating? You go girl! Just a Tuesday? Live it up! Nervous about a life change? You’ve got this. One piece of feedback I consistently receive, whether while teaching art, special education, or working as a photographer, is that I make people feel comfortable. I am so pleased with that as a defining characteristic, I’ll be me, and I’ll do my best to help you feel appreciated for you.

Making beautiful things is hard in a vacuum. I need people to help manifest what I visualize and I am so down to do the same for others! I love watching my ideas and art shift and grow into even more than I could of imagined as it interacts with new people and perspectives. While I have settled into wedding photography as my main business, I love exploring all the facets earth has to offer. I enjoy road trips with my partner, Jake. I love watching Twilight in the fall (and summer, and spring). I love swimming, painting, reading, hiking, cloud watching, and just singing along to whatever song plays next. I trust the universe, in a cheesy and vaguely metaphysical way, and if you’ve found my website, you’ve read this far, I would love to connect and make good things together.
